The obituary that was put up after my father’s death is a travesty, a mockery of his life and legacy. This is the memory of the man who grew up with us, raised us, loved us, and finally left our lives.

Fredrick Alexander Bierschbach, 64, of Platte City, Mo joined his life’s love beyond the veil on Saturday, August 24th, 2019. Fred was born May 5, 1955 to James and Mary (Tower) Bierschbach in Mount Pleasant, MI. He attended Beal City High school, graduating in 1974, and then joined the U.S. Army. After training at Ft. Knox Kentucky he served at Ft. Leavenworth Disciplinary Barracks. After attaining the rank of Sergeant, Fred moved from military corrections to civilian corrections where he spent most of his career, beginning at Leavenworth Penitentiary. He served at several correctional institutions before retiring in Pekin, IL and finally settling down with his wife and their dogs in Platte City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan, and his father, James. He later married Patty Koechner and is survived by her and her family.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Bierschbach; Sons Trever (Julie) and Jamie (Karen) Bierschbach; Grandchildren Gavin Bierschbach, Shelby Bierschbach, Hadley Kate Bierschbach; Siblings Keitha (Alvin) Cain, Peter (Susan) Bierschbach, Lydia Bierschbach, Donna (Bob) Rogers, James Bierschbach, Carl (Lisa) Bierschbach, Clara (Ron) Baldwin, Mary (Heather Behrens) Bierschbach, and Alex (Jennifer) Bierschbach; as well as countless nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Services have already been held in Weston, Mo, and this does so little to memorialize the man we lost.
